Peter Smith

FAMM were very sorry to hear of the death of Peter Smith in November 2025, aged 90. Peter was another founder member of FAMM and he was a regular at our meetings and events.

Professionally, Peter worked in the City of London, but his great interest was for the history of Aldershot. He was famous for his amazing collection of Aldershot related documents, postcards, photographs and many other items, which he had built up over a lifetime of collecting. Peter was always generous in allowing us to use his material in the various special displays which we have done over the years.

With Peter’s passing we sadly lose another connection with the early days of the Museum and the Friends, and we offer sincere condolences to his wife and family.
