We, under the guidance of Paul Vickers, achieved all three of these goals. The Exhibition was successfully mounted at the Museum and showed what a thoroughly professional job could be done by well-directed and motivated amateurs. It was not just the physical display that showed the Friends in a good light.
Behinds the scenes there was a great deal of work involved in acquiring exhibits, seeking permissions for display, liaison with the military authority and the inevitable and seemingly never-ending paperwork. Added to that was the need to acquire grants to fund the Project. It was very pleasing to receive acknowledgement of our good work recently from the two bodies who had granted us funds to help in the work – The Heritage Lottery Fund and Rushmoor Borough Council.
Over and above the call of the Project, Paul produced the book of the Exhibition.
